Teacher Love Project

Why Teacher Wellness is Important to Achievement for All

Logic informs us that teachers are critical to the education process.  There is considerable research that proves this belief is not only true but that teachers have the single greatest impact in terms of student achievement.

“When it comes to student performance on reading and math tests, a teacher is estimated to have two to three times the impact of any other school factor, including services, facilities, and even leadership.” Therefore, our youth depends on quality teachers for a fair and equitable learning opportunity for all, making it our responsibility to ensure this promise as “effective teaching has the potential to help level the playing field.”

~RAND Education

One of the foundational beliefs of Promise Informed Schools is that we must build protective factors on behalf of intities that support achievment for all.  Teachers are the most important to this vision and therefore, their wellness must be priority.   By implementing and enforcing protective factors for wellness such as support, encouragement, and consideration teachers can be guarded and protected to ensure they are socially and emotionally well to perform at the highest levels for our students.  To realize better outcomes for our teachers and students we must commit to the promise of care and love for our teachers to fortify their rightful opportunity to be happier, healthier, more focused, and highly effective.

“Average teachers teach a skill until students get it right.  Highly Effective teachers work with students

until they can’t get it wrong.”

~Eric Jensen, educational expert

Promise Informed Schools proudly supports this worthy initative by providing professional services and supports that enhance content and tool development conducive to enhancing wellness for teachers through efforts by the community.

The Promise Informed approach supports the Teacher Love Project through the use of a careful integration of custom Promise Informed frameworks including the P.E.A.K. Promise Standards, B.L.U.E. TEAM, and FOUR Cs to provide systems and practices that focus on care from a position of seeing what is right, changeable, and possible.

Happy teachers are effective teachers. Promise Informed Schools is committed to the well-being of teachers in order to keep the promise of achievement for all.

“Happiness is not a goal - it is a by-product of a life well lived.”

~ Eleanor Roosevelt

A Promise Informed belief is that when communities are equipped to offer strategic support and care for teachers, they are not only able to champion the most influential people in education, they are also able to guard the most valuable and reciprocal resource teachers have - each other.

“The most valuable resource teachers have is each other"

~Robert John Meehan, referred to as“The Voice of the American Teacher”

Teacher Love Project is win win for education. It provides communities a means by which to organize and begin to care for and encourage teachers.   It is a blend of practical and strategic work for a basic yet essential need. Though it is only part of a bigger picture solution for addressing the promise of achievement for all, it is a worthy and significant contribution that can make a transformative impact.
